I doubt that it's a rat, haven't seem one around here for MANY years. Only thing running around this neighborhood are squirrels, chipmunks, raccoon, and and every so often a red fox.
We have had two "make ground" messing or laying ontop of a transformer out front where they cross the rd.on the wires.The first one went BOOM and my wife looked out the window to see what was up.she asked me "Is that a squirrel?"and I looked out to see something that looked like one laying in the yard w smoke rising up from it.I retrieved it to show her what electricity can do to you and told her we had supper as it was already cooked!she wasnt interested in eating it!
My son and his family went camping in their 6-8 month old Tundra. Had a nice weekend but when they fired it up to come home there was some bad stuff happening. The engine ran like crap, half the gauges didn't work, and some of the accessories didn't work. But he did manage to get home in it. When he took it to the dealer, there were two wiring harnesses that had been feasted upon. It could only have been squirrels. Would you believe that the warranty covered it?
