Then maybe that's how you save money on the PB... Fill the front valley's and use the plugs to drain the rear ones

True, I will have to go take a look at the boat tomorrow and see what will work. Right now I'm making beef jerky!

It may sound like a crude idea but how about if you cheese grated up about a half of a sheet of pink insulation foam and mixed it up with some resin or filler and spread it over that area and bring it up to level. Your not after strength just to fill the space with something that won't soak up water. I suppose a gallon of cheap resin would do the trick. I'd mix in some chopped glass for good measure too. You wouldn't be adding more than a few pounds when its all done. One of those Surform cheese grater type planes should do the trick in making foam bits too.

That hull is almost identical to a '72 Reinell I just did. I had the same issue, and it resulted in the deck rotting at the edges. I considered filling it it, but didn't want the weight. (The valley is quite long....) On mine, it never drained, as there was a low spot on each side, about 3 feet from the transom. I ended up just filling it in enough, to remove the low spot. I used some glass matt and resin just enough to remove the low spot. True, it will drain anyway when under power, but if water gets in there while on the trailer, it will end up causing rot if it can't drain.

Going to use evercoat waterproof expanding foam, its a bit pricey but cheaper and much lighter than PB.
