Triangle Coupler Question

I have the triangle coupler shown in the picture on a 1996 GM 5.7L with 14 inch flywheel with an Alpha One drive. I am test fitting the engine with the Alpha One Gimbal Housing and Inner Transom plate in place. The tip of the coupler appears to be about 1 inch from the front end of the gimbal bearing looking in through the gimbal bearing from the back side. Should the coupler extend back that far, that is, should it be that close to the bearing? Thanks.

It being that close is not an issue. If it gets any closer something broke :D

I have two bravos that had Alpha couplers. One was the older alpha version and shorter. It did not have a grease fitting. The other coupler had fitting and was a bit longer. In addition, one shift had an o ring and the other didn't. I suspect that the one without o ring was for older model alphas.

Thanks, I guess you can barely see it in the pic but this one has the grease fitting. I had to get this one because the other one I have is for the 12 3/4 inch flywheel.

Ayuh,..... That looks fine,..... Does it clear the flywheel cover,..?? If so, yer good to go,....
