I had an Anchormate on my 10' jonboat. It was the best feature of the boat! I cut some plywood to mount the reel to the gunwhale, and the reel made a handy spot to rest a fishing rod as well.

Use a milk crate myself for years for this purpose. Works great. Always room for extra stuff too not rolling around in my tinny.
