well in that case the cylinder may be fine.... I have had several brake lines on trailers break... they typically run long spans with little support. They also can rust where they lay in the bottom of the frame rail. Fatigue is the biggy though..... I had mine working well and lost trailer brakes while coming down a 6% grade and while my truck was up to the task it could have been bad in a panic stop.... On later inspection a line had just snapped off at a cylinder.
This was a line that had not been touched in years and looked fine other than the break..... You can buy a double flairing tool and a roll of brake line for less that the custom fit stainless lines and make your own.
