New to the forum and to my used boat and boy am I getting a lot of help. Thanks all. My tilt and trim gauge will not work it's locked in the down position. It seemed to move slightly once, but no more. I sent off for the manual. Is that covered? If not anyone have any suggestions. The previous help on the water pressure gauge was great. Again thanks all...

Also, i am not certain how utilitarian that gauge really is when you can simply look back!

Joe, The trim gauge is not real useful, as you will be able to feel the trim setting on the boat, with some practice. The gauges have also shown themselves to be unrealiable, IMHO.

Tilt the motor all the way up and look for a black arm inside the transom bracket. That is the sender for the gauge. Exercize it and see if the gauge moves. If not, there is a problem with the sender, gauge or wiring between them. The sender is a variable resistor, to ground. It may be checked with a ohmmeter.

Thanks... I'll start looking for the sender and trace the wires from the gauge to the sender. I may just substitute it for a water temperature gauge.
