Re: trim and tilt

This is just a suggestion but I would get a CMC tilt trim, it is comparable in price to OEM unit and it will actually works without having to tear you motor apart to put it on.

Finding a working TT for a motor that old is gonna be a real challenge and like I said once you find it you have to put it on where the CNC is a bolt up they work right the first time and have a warranty.

Thet have them here at the iboats store for a very good price

Oh if you do get a CMC skip the trim gage , after the first couple times you run the boat you will never look at it except to say "why did I spend the extra money on that, I never even use it"

The CMC's are a nice unit. Had one on my boat for my previous motor. Every once in a while I'll see one on craigslist. Might check ebay as well. Like 5150 said, it bolts straight to the boat and the motor bolts onto that. Very easy setup that shouldn't take more than a hour. Mine had the gauge only because I was able to get a good deal but I hardly, if ever, relied on the gauge.

yes i would probaly buy a cnc tilt for the older motors seems to be the way to go .problem is if you but a used unit on ebay or craiglist you get no warranty and if they break you may have a hard time finding parts .
i would have bought one for mine but they are high for the large motors 175 evin
good luck
