Trim Cylinder Assembly Question

Hi there. I'm putting an o-ring kit in my 74 mercuriser trim cylinder.

I was wondering if I should use loctite (blue or red) on the Outer Tube threads where it goes into the End Cap.

It was very difficult to disassemble (I had to heat it) so I thought maybe they used a loctite product there.

Ayuh,... I wouldn't,.... just oiled threads...
Corrosion is more likely Why it came apart Hard...

Thanks for the info Bondo. I put it together with a bit of oil like you suggested.

Only managed to lose the Bypass Ball. Luckily I had a spare bad cylinder to steel the ball from.

My eyes aren't meant to see stuff that small anymore.
