Tried bleeding system. Was running trim up and wouldn't go back down. The cracked the bottom of tube . Ordered a new cylinder put back together and wouldn't act right still. Bought a rebuild kit with piston pre-assembled and bled again. . Extnded. Retracted then attached stern. Tried lifting then it blew the rod end cap off. Followed instructions and watched yourube rebuilds. I even swapped sides while doing all this to make sure issue moved which it did. At a loss as to why. As last resort ordered 2 full pre-built assemblies to change both at once. I'm afraid its going to blow one of the new ones. Is it possible the othe ram was over preasuring the one that kept popping

Following along to see what the heck is going on here. Never had one pop on me and I've seen some pretty bad rams.

Ayuh,...... Did it twice myself, on an ole MC-1, with the reverse lock valve on the return line, hooked to the shift cable,.......

In forward, the lock valve is open,......
In reverse it's closed, 'n I jumpered the trim pump, which of course overloaded the system, 'n blew out the side of the trim ram,....
Dummy me, did it twice,......

Not sure whether that valve is open, or closed in neutral,.......
I upgraded to a later Alpha system 'bout that time,......

I'd guess refly should be lookin' at the reverse lock valve, if his boat is old enough to have it,.....
