I am trying to disassemble a trim cylinder from a 1976 Evinrude 115hp. I have soaked in acetone/atf heated with a torch(not cherry red yet) and pretty much made a mess of the four pin holes using a pin wrench and vise, punch with a blunt chisel. Any suggestions or tricks before I completely destroy the cap. Thanks.

To get that end cap off, you need a special "spanner" wrench. See you local auto parts store. They are inexpensive and are designed to do that job.

Thanks for the reply. I have tried multiple spanner wrenches. I tried an adjustable pin wrench also. I understand there is a "special tool" socket with four pins but I haven't found anyone with one to lend. Thanks
