Trim Cylinder leaking

I have a 1983 Alpha/MR outdrive and while on the lake this weekend, I noticed some fuel leaking out after we stopped running. When I got the boat on the trailer, i noticed that the port side trim cylinder oil line was leaking. It was the long line that goes to the aft of the cylinder.

What would cause this to start leaking? It did not seem to be loose or anything to the touch. Anything i should look for?

Re: Trim Cylinder leaking

Could be the line or where the line screws into the cylinder.Corrosion or friction is usually the cause.

Thanks!

I just found it odd that the line would start leaking all of a sudden. I'll take it off and inspect/replace it.

Nothing odd about it at all.My main concern would be the exact location of the leak. This will determine what needs to be replaced.A braided line will be a lot cheaper than a cylinder.Charlie
