Trim Cylinder Stripped Out

On my pre-alpha driver I was replacing the pressure line and before the line got snug the threads in the cylinder stripped out. I left it there to see if it would hold pressure but it popped the line off before it would raise the drive even halfway. I have plans for the boat this weekend, is there any way to tap the cylinder a size bigger and insert a reducer to hook my line into that? Or is my cylinder junk and need to find a replacement? Any help greatly appreciated I am supposed to head to lake tonight after work.

THanks

Take it to a machine shop. They'll be able to tell you if it's fixable. Might be able to heli-coil it, or they may re-weld, re-thread, then check out the cylinder to make sure it's still round.

First of all that is a flair connection. You can get a fitting at a auto parts store, not hardware store. The fitting would be male pipe threads on one end and female flair on the other end.The flair end must fit your hydraulic line.Drill and tap cylinder for the male pipe thread end.Of course you would want to disassemble the cylinder and clean out well.
