Good morning all:

I make a big mistake for hauling the boat down the driveway and forgot to bring the lower unit upward. As I came down the driveway, the lower unit hit the ground a couple of times. Now, I can only trim "up" but not "down". Any advise how to fix this problem is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Does the pump spin when you try to engage the down cycle for the tilt?

TMD

Marine Doctor,

I don't think the pump spin when I tilt down. Thank you for replying and for your advice.

I had the same problem with mine, (minus hitting the skeg on the pavement) turned out it was a bad relay.

It might just be a coincidence that you hit the pavement and the engine tilt started to give you problems. As suggested by RTW have a look at the Relays.

To find them...there should be Green and Blue wires running to them. Just swap the relays. If the Tilt then works opposite...you will know its the relays.

TMD
