Re: trim gage

My last boat with an 83 Evinrude 140 on it had a very accurate and useful trim gauge. I could trim the boat by feel easily of course but it was useful because when my wife pulled me while skiing I could tell her where to put the needle after I got up. There was a large range of useful trim and the gauge showed where you were perfectly. The original trim sender also worked perfectly for the 26 years we had the boat.

On our current boat with a Volvo I/O, the gauge is beyond useless. The range of trim that's used is much smaller and the gauge doesn't move much. From what I read the senders don't last long either.
