So in the last month or two, my trim gauge has been slowly moving higher. The full down position is now in the middle of the gauge.

Haven't had a chance to break out the meter yet, but is this typically a bad sender or bad gauge?

(And a pic, just because I'm looking at the gauge now!)

Its most likely the sender
Loosen the screws on starboard side, turn key ON and adjust. Might not fix it, but worth a shot

Exactly my case. Just started the other day. Will have to try the same adjustment.
What I'm also wondering, does 2005 B3 have end-switches or trim limits built into them? Meaning it will cut off the pump when the outdrive has reached it's lower position? The boat is new to me and the pump keeps pumping even the oitdrive is lowered to the end. Does it hurt the pump or is this normal?

The down function should stop when you release the switch. It will run as long as the switch is held in the down position.

The up limit is adjusted by the trim limit on the starboard side of the drive. The limit cuts the drive from coming up any further.

There should be another button for trailer function. Its used when the motor is shut off and the drive is then brought all the way up

When I had my bell housing off to replace all the rubber bits I forgot to tighten the screws on the sender and it slipped out of adjustment. Maybe yours has slipped.

Aha, thank you. My previous was VP and that cut the pump when down position was reached. So B3 I understand doesn't cut the power when low end position is reached. So it must have some relieve valve so it doesnt hurt the pump when you still press the button?
But this "another button for trailer" I don't understand. Where is this located? I have just up/down on the remote and that's it. However, the up button kinda has two stages and the up function only works when you depress the "second stage". Is that what you are refferring to?

Yes, to both questions

Depends on which control is on the boat as to where the trailer up is.

Oh no. Then I should start chasing why trim up doesn't work but trailer up works?
One thing I'm thinking is when my trim sender has "rotated" a bit so it tricks the system to think it's already high enough and only trailer-up could be engaged? But if that's not the case then I'm stuck with no ideas...

Ya know, this should have been your own thread instead of using H20Rat's

I'll say in closing, the up function is controlled by the trim limit. The limit is most likely gone bad and is not making a connection. The limit will need to be replaced, or it can be bypassed by connecting the Pur/Wht and Blu/Wht wires together (red circle). When doing this the limit is bypassed so just the trim button will take drive to full up anytime it's pressed.

This is how mine is connected, but I know better then to raise to high when motor is running
