Folks,<br /><br />I have a new to me 2001 Merc 50 hp outboard. It is on my also new to me 2000 Sundancer 20' 200D pontoon. (Get the picture here?)<br /><br />The tilt/trim works fine from either the motor or the throttle lever.<br /><br />Regardless of the motor position, the gauge indicates it is all the way up. <br /><br />After searching these forums I have been able to confirm (I think) the gauge is OK. This was done by shorting the sender terminal to the ground with the power on. When I did this the gauge moved to the down position.<br /><br />I am trying to go to the other end of the problem by checking the sender but don't know where to look. I tried following the brown and white wire into the motor, but got lost.<br /><br />Can anyone point me in the right direction to the sender on a unit like this or to a wiring diagram or to whatever you think might help?<br /><br />Any help greatly appreciated.
