Trim Intermittent in Out/Up Direction

1995 Bayliner 2050LS
4.3LX Alpha 1 Gen II 4BBL
Engine serial # 0F436164

The power trim works fine in the In/Down direction but is intermittent in the Out/Up direction. When I try to trim Out/Up, I hear the solenoid click but nothing happens. After several tries, then it works. This happens with both the trim switch and trailer switch.

The trouble shooting chart in the OEM manual (page 1C-14) for my situation says it's either a loose/dirty connection or bad solenoid.

I keep my boat about an hour away and will work on it the next time I get there. I want to have a solenoid on hand in case it's not a loose wire/dirty connection.

The picture of the solenoid in the manual is difficult to see and since I don't have the boat here, I don't have a good idea of what the solenoid looks like.

2 questions:

1. Is this the solenoid I need?

Wierd, I have a similar problem and you beat my post by 3 minutes....

On mine the pump actually starts in the up/out direction anb then stops. Mine are older units though so parts are different.
