I have a 1993 Crownline with a 225 volvo in it. I bought the boat at the end of the year last year, and have had very minor problems with it. I took the boat out last night and had it docked for 3 hours, upon returning to the boat and departing for home, the outdrive started to trim up on it's own in 5-10 second increments about 30 seconds apart. It wouldn't let me lower it at all, however i could hear a clicking noise behind the dash when i pushed the down button, as in it was trying to lower, but there was no response at all from the engine. Usually the trim is disabled when the key is not in the run position. But this was still raising itself even when the key was out. As soon as i would turn the battery on it would start to do it. I don't think it's the switches, because even with the wire disconnected from them, it would still do it. If any one has any idea, it'd be much appreciated. Thanks.
