Trim Leak

Last weekend before launching I moved my motor into the full tilt position so that I could remove my transom saver. By the time I could walk from the control to the back of the boat I noticed a lot of oil starting to ooze out of the trim cylinder on the port side. This seems to be the only visible leak and I suspect the leak just occurred because my T&T was able to continue working normally. With that said, I recognize that normal operation will not continue with an oil leak. I would like to replace the port side trim seal(s). I don't really care to mess with any seals that are not presently leaking, but I am open to completing the same job on the starboard trim cylinder. My manual instructs to remove the outboard, and then the entire T&T unit for servicing. This seems to be a bit of overkill for my situation. The trim cylinders face outward and look to be easy to get at. Is it possible to do this job without removing the outboard from the boat and servicing the the entire T&T unit on a workbench. From the pictures in my manual it looks like I can get an adjustable spanner wrench on the end cap for removal, and I think I can do this with the outboard still mounted to the boat. Am I missing something or do I really need to remove the outboard? The manual is not clear on this.

Also, I am having trouble determining what replacement seals I will need. My motor is a 1978 Johnson 140 hp (140TL78C). Please share thoughts on the seals I will need to purchase for this job. If possible, I would like to order the seals from iBoats.
