Just got back from the shop where I had a new tilt/trim motor installed. Now it works fine except it leaks down pretty fast. Sounds like hydraulic cylinder need to be rebuilt but they can't get it off. The pin to remove hydraulic assembly is corroded tight and the mech says he will bust the assenbly if he hits it any harder. Tried heat no luck. What are my choices? Mech says a used assy can be a solution since the powerhead is in great shape and so is the lower unit. Any suggestions for getting out the pin? any suggestions for finding a complete assembly without powerhead? How screwed am I?
Is it possible that it will cure itself (stupid I know but I have heard that sometimes this can happen with these hydraulic cylinders especially if they have set idle for a year or so)
Please someone help.
