trim limit spacers

Reposting, I originally posted this in the general boating forum.

Hello, I have a Volvo Penta DP-SM. I am having the trim cylinders rebuilt. I want to allow the trim to raise up another 2.5 inches. I believe my trim cylinders contain trim limit spacers. . My question is: how do you translate an inch of trim limit spacer removal to an increase in trim height?

Deleted the general post.

Ask the guy rebuilding the cylinders.

Measure the extended length of piston rod as now, (then remover the trim limit spacers from inside) then lift the leg to the height you want, re-measure the piston rod length again. Cut off the difference from the plastic bit of the trim limit spacers.

Thanks for deleting the original post, I wanted to move it, but didn't see an option for that. The trim cylinder guy (hydraulic shop) didn't know. He did say that removing trim spacer length was exponential and he was right. I propped the outdrive up till it was (the top plate on the lower unit) about an 1 1/4 inch from the swim platform. I measured the length of where the trim cylinder would be and it was only about 1/4 inch more than it was before. So that 1/4 inch will give me about 1 3/4 lift in the outdrive height. I wanted more, but I will live with this.

Make sure you do not over extend you bellows as they can split if too much tension is put on them.
