How many set the trim limit switch so it only allows you to go as far as the best leg angle when you trim out at speed??

I don't even have a limit switch, the pump has bypass valving that squeels when the drive reaches it's mechanical limit, sorta like when the wife parks the car and turns the wheel till the pump squeels.
If I did have a trim limit switch I would set it so I could still trim out for beaching in shallow water.

That would be a great idea if I didn't run into shallow water for my dock and trim out at various different angles for speeds from 25 MPH to WOT.

What NHGuy means is that optimum trim is different for different throttle settings and hull loading. Generally, the faster the motor is turning, means you can trim out more. Also, if you load the bow, you might like to trim more than if you load the stern, for the same speed.

best bet is to go by the manual....I have never done it but understand it can be a difficult process

trim limit is a set spec that is supposed to be set based on the drive type, shouldnt be changed based on what you want, its based on what the ujoints will handle at an angle under throttle.
