Connecting up the trim limit switch wires on the new transom assemblies.

The wires are supposed to be coded with blue and purple bands to connect up to blue/white and purple/white connections......mine are both just black of course.

How do we determine which is which?

What drive and year, and are you referring to the wires on the new switches or the boat. If the switches, are they oem or aftermarket?

New Alpha Gen2 transoms. OEM

The trim Position switch wires are male and female, an easy connection. The Limit switch wires are supposed to be banded blue and purple to mate with blue/white and purple/white connectors. Mine are both unmarked.....here they are:

First make sure you have the wires for the trim limit and trim sender identified. The wires shown in your hand go to the switches.
Trim limit and Trim sender dont care how there wired. The trim limit is only an on-off switch, the trim sender is a variable resistor.
If you replaced both units , they should have been marked T.L and T.S and the leads shouls have been marked at that time.

They are marked, as much as needed.

The trim gauge sender has a male and female connect so they get hooked up correctly.

The trim limit switch connectors are both the same because it doesn't matter. It's on or off. the adjustment is what counts.
