Wont trim up while in forward, the force of thrust holds the out drive down and in reverse it bounces the outdrive.Im thinking I need a new trim cylinder or motor,or can they be rebuilt?I does work when boat is not moving or is not in gear, also I can force the out drive back down if I put all my weight into it,thats not right is it?

Re: trim motor problems

is it hydraulic? If so, the fluid levels could be low or the piston could be defunct

Re: trim motor problems

From your other post I found you have an AQ125 with a 270 outdrive. The 270 does not have trim, only tilt.

Sorry, does that mean that the tilt can only be
ran all the way down. What is the differance between trim and tilt?

Re: trim motor problems

Tilt is used to raise the outdrive up for trailering.
Trim is used to adjust boat trim (bow up or down) while underway.
