Trim motor wire

Hi,

I have a Johnson 1980 V4 85hp and the trim just clicks when I hit the switch. I checked power to the trim motor and all is good.

I disassembled the trim motor and in addition to water in the motor there is a broken wire. It looks like it goes on the motor cap but I'm not sure where. Any suggestions?

if you have water inside the motor it's probably done since it's electric... I had the same problem a week ago and I figured I was better off buying a new motor, so that's what I did. Ebay is the cheapest I could find the motor trim at..
