The wiring to my trim position indicator where it goes through the bellows is bad. Instead of having to pull the bell housing and bellows just to replace the wiring and trim indicators is there a way to jumper the trim motor so my switch on the throttle will still work. I have been told that if the limit switch and position indicator or wiring is bad my switch will not work and that seems to be the case. I have power to the trim motor soloniods but they just click, Next question is can I run the wiring for those limit switches thru the transom instead of having to pull the bell housing off, the reason i ask is because the wiring to one of my transducers is right next to the outdrive and it would save me a lot of time and money to just use the same hole as my transducer wiring
Any help will be appreciated

Re: trim position indicator on bravo outdrive

The switch on the throttle is connected to the limit switch/sender on the outdrive. The position sender is attached to the trim gauge.

They both route through the upper part of the transom assembly, not the bellows .

I have replaced my switch/senders without removing or dis assembling the outdrive and all that stuff. The service manual says to take everything apart, but I was able to remove the old wiring and senders and install new ones with everything still intact.

It is sort of like orthoscopic surgery with a 1/4" socket wrench, but it is do-able.

I think it is best to replace everything with the proper wiring and routing rather than monkey with it.
