I was boating when trim/tilt stopped working and started to whirr but no action up or down,, when I put it on trailer
and took out drain plug very black ugly oil came out, stern would not raise, with the help of my son got it up enough
to trailer home, when took out cowlings and seats I could see the trim motor on the port side, this is a 1976 model
but engine and every thing else have been replaced except trim unit,, same is black looking on a sheet metal frame.. hit trim buttons up down all I could see was fluid coming out the bottom where the preassure hose hooks up
to bottom of trim unit,, can I do the above and man handle it up?? how do I fix this myself, or should I just take it to the shop,, it does appear to be coming from the unit above the hose, the fitting was tight? whats next
what kind of expence can I expect,, I am a loss on what to do next
