Trim problem

I have a 1968 120hp stringer and the trim won't go down! The screw jack turns but the motor doesn't go down! It appears to be all the way up! Is there a nut or something in the housing on the bottom that could b stripped?? Any insight would help!!!!!!

Isn't the motor at the bottom? I would think if it's turnin' on the motor, and the jack screw is turning then the mechanism is working. You can find a diagram HERE.
