Hey guys first post and need some help.

The trim motor was bad in my trim pump on my Bayliner with a OMC outdrive. I replaced the motor and it still didnt work. So I bought a used one in working order. Still didnt work.

My problem is that the motor spins and spins but the outdrive does not move. Do I have alot of air in the system and need to bleed it somehow? Also I am not sure the hoses are in the correct spot, can this lead to a problem having them reversed?

Thanks for any help

Matt

Re: Trim Problems

Trim pumps are self bleeding, just by running up and down.
If all you have replaced is the motor, you could have a bad pump, or a cylinder could be bypassing internally.
Are you sure the reservoir is full of oil? If the hoses were hooked up backwards, up would be down and down up, but it would still work.

Re: Trim Problems

ok figured it out it was pretty dumb really. I had the pump mounted upside down. Works great on one more thing down on the boat to get it water ready!

Matt
