I just finished a major rebuilding project on a 1972 peterborough with a mercruiser 888 outdrive with a ford 302. I had to remove the engine to get at the transom for repairs. Every thing went back together fine as I took alot of digital pics along the way for reference. My problem is with the trim. It works fine except for when the boat is in gear, it will not trim up. When it's in neutral, the trim operates perfectly. Up or down. When its in gear, it will not go up, only down. What should I be looking for?

It's that Funky Looking Reverse-Lock Thingy mounted on the Transom, with the Light-Weight Tubing running to it.......

It's Either,.... Not Working Right,.... Or Out of Adjustment.........

this info is out of mercruiser vol. 2 trouble shooting guide for tilt trim systems......
