I was washing my 1994 Ranger 374v this morning and had my motor support bar off of the motor and had the 175hp XRI slightly trimmed up while I was washing it. Got through washing and went in for a cup of coffee and watched tv for 30 minutes. Went back out and the motor was sitting level instead of slightly trimmed up. I dont think this is normal.
So this evening I took her to the lake and rode around and then when I went to load it on the trailer I trimmed the motor up a good bit so it wouldn't hit the bottom.(shallow water) and I had to gas it a little to push the boat on the trailer. Well when I did this the motor pushed itself back down.
Never noticed this before. What could be going on with my trim system? Could it just be low on fluid or are the seals in the hydraulic unit going bad? I hope this is nothing major because it looks like it could be a pain in the you know what to take all of that off and replace it.
