Working on a buddys old 68 Bayliner...

He smashed the sterndrive on a rock and one of his trim rams exploded. We replaced it (2 line model) and it will trim up perfectly fine. However when we trim down it gets hung halfway and sounds like its struggling. When we release the down button she slowly drops a bit.

Any ideas?

There is a small “O”ring all the way in the front of the ram that is leaking. It is about 1/2” O.D. You need to completely disassemble the ram {s}.
All you need is the ram seal kit. Re fill the system with power steering fluid.
