A few trim & trailer problems going on here. I've been reading and researching the forums. Here's where I'm at:

I had new trim senders and wires installed by a mechanic last year. Currently, trim down works, trim UP doesn't work.

Trailer button does work but I have to press the button very hard to get the outdrive up. I've taken off the lower throttle cover several times and re-installed it to get that little plastic cup to fit over the metal connect (trailer button). Seems like a little flap of plastic *always* folds over the metal connect. The plastic plate for the lower throttle cover needs to be at an angle to re-install, then shoved up and then vertical to 'click' into it's place. Tried several times, frustrated. I'm thinking about cutting a notch or slot into that plastic cup ... ??? ... In a pinch, I can remove the cover and use a screw on the metal portion to engage the Trailer UP. Not convenient, but works in a pinch.

I've located the trim wires inside the motor compartment on the stern. I plan to disconnect those wires and insert the jumper wire (next week when I can) to see if that 'fixes' my trim UP problem.

1. If the jumper wire works, should I just stay with that?
2. Is there a trick in re-installing the plastic throttle cable cover?
3. Is the trim UP sender on PORT or STARBOARD side? I will loosen the 2 screws and adjust/troubleshoot to see if that'll get it 'trimming UP'. Do I turn the sender Clockwise or Counterclockwise to adjust the trim UP?

With multiple 'trim up' issues, I'm worried that I won't be able to get the drive up when needed. Thanks for the HELP!!

You can just bypass and disable the trim sender, or try to get it adjusted. The trim limit switch is on the port side. The up circuit uses the Blue/White wire. If the Blue/White is Jumped to the Purple/White then you can trim up from full down to full up.

To adjust the limit you need to people. One at the trim button on the throttle and the other on the outdirve. Loosen the screws on the limit sender slightly. Hold the trim up button and rotate the sender until the drive cylinder extends to 20 3/4 max (it can be less).

So far as the trailer button, this depends on which control you have. If you have the 3000 control like the one I have, the button is a pain. If the rubber cover is removed there is a disc on the under side. The 2 connections on the housing can be bent up slightly and will make the contacts happen easier. As before it depends on which that you have

Side note: I don't use a trim limit on my cruiser, I know how far to go by feel
