Troubleshooting erratic sender readings. Found this nice rusty pile of goo and rusted metal. Assuming that’s the issue. My question is, this was a brand new sender I installed last summer. Wondering if I didn’t install correctly and that’s why it failed so fast?

What make was that one?
Was there an o-ring sealing the two halves?

I will try and find what make it was but believe Sierra. I don’t believe there was an O-ring. Had me scratching my head trying to figure out how it was supposed to keep water out?

If it's Sierra it should have Sierra stamped on the cover.

In 2017 I noticed a similar problem with the Sierra sender that I installed in 2015.
I contacted them and they said they had redesigned the seal and sent me new ones on warranty.
