Trim Sender Loose

Hi,

My Trim Sender on my 94 Alpha One is broken. Its clear why, the wires are frayed running into the sender.

My real question is there are suppose to be two adjustment screws on the sender. I am missing one and the other one is bound up really tight. The sender wiggles a little bit. Is it okay if water get in there? Clearly it wont work but that doesn't matter as the wires are broke. I just want to make sure the water wont cause other issues.
