Hi everyone. So decided to install some trim tabs on my boat (Maxum 2300 SC - 24 LOA x approx 5200 lbs). I am going to go electric. Benneett web site states I should use a 9"x24" (an inch/ft/side) while the Lenco suggests one half that size...9"x12" using their sizing table. What gives?

Start by measuring the room you have, this could dictate size. The more tab the less tab will be needed to change angle.

What Alldodge said. I've had 3 boats that came equipped with tabs, and none of them were nearly as wide as what Bennett recommends. However, all worked adequately. Measure the available space on your boat and go with the widest that will fit.

I’m running a boat of similar length and weight with 12x12 tabs. If anything, I have too much tab. Doesn’t take much tab to get squirrelly

As pointed out the larger the Tab the less it will need to be deflected to adjust the boat's attitude. So less drag in relation to lift. 12 x 12 tabs are often easier to mount and are also a good size for that Boat.

If you like post a photo of the Boat's transom and I can give you a more specific recommendation.

Hello. I have the exact same boat, and looking to install a set of trim tabs. I was wondering what size tabs you ended up installing, and how it worked out. Thanks.
