Re: Trim tab usage

I want a fuel flow meter as well, but the fact is it will take a long time to pay it back with savings if that's your plan.
Adding the flow meter to my Lowrance GPS Sounder was less than $80. Doesn't take long to get that back actually.

Re: Trim tab usage

I would want it just for the fun, but to assume you will pick up enough to pay it back, and assuming that you already have an NMEA compatible GPS unit are just that, assumptions. I guess my point is that you have to use a fair amount of fuel to make even a 10% improvement pay off. Example is 20 gallon a day (semi-big user) 10% saving is $8 . . . 10 trips/days. OK, dead easy, but the math still matters.

You have to do the same math for anything you buy if intended as a cost saver . . . That's all. This one may be the easiest. Dunno.

Re: Trim tab usage

There was one time that I had to use the trim tabs.

We had 10 people and 5 big Coleman coolers on board .

My fuel saving speed on plane is 36 mph. :)

My twin 350's are loving it at 3200rpm's. :)
