Here is a stupid question? This is my first boat and I not sure how to ask this question, so here I go. I have a mercruiser alpha out drive with the Trim tabs/sacrificial anode on the bottom of the drive. I know what the sacrificial anode does but what elese does the trim tap part of it do? I think it may have someting to do with my steering problems as well. My boat wants to pull to the right. If so can I turn it the opposite way or straight to get the boat to go straight?

Maybe I should have said Here are some stupid questions.

Let me guess, you watched Shipshape TV this weekend? They worked on an outboard engine, in my uneducated opinion, should work in THEIR theory!!

The trim tab is used to adjust the steering to stop the pulling.
Here is how to adjust it.

Here's another stupid question from a firt-time I/O owner. My Alpha 1 Gen 2 doesn't have a trim tab, only a flat annode. Is this typical or should it have a trim tab?

The flat anode is for power steering.
