As I am now committed to replacing the transom in my dory prior to fitting my 140hp V4 rude, it seems like the best time to install the trim tabs. What is best, Screwing them in or should they be glassed in to minimise risk of water ingress? What is the best method of sealing if screwed in? I am thinking to get electrically adjustable tabs, although an aquaintance swears by his hydraulic ones which can only be adjusted from outside the boat by forcefully pushing on them repeatedly? Any advise gratefully received.
