has anyone had any experiences with the self adjusting trim tabs?

Will they hurt me if i was on a shallow flat. RE: get me stuck

the problem i have is that my engine sits a little to low in the water and i am getting a fan spray for the forward and upper cav. plate

i was considering a manual jack plate but am not sure about when i set it that i will always be adjusting it due to weather and water conditions.

Re: trim tabs

ive fitted them a lot on rigid inflatables. they do help to a certain extent. plane time is a little quicker. fixed trim tabs ive found are far more effective in not only reducing plane time but also reducing chine walk, which the self adjusting tabs tend to accentuate. i just cant remember the brand......too many carb jobs.

Re: trim tabs

Can you raise the engine without a jack plate? You should probably have the AV plate even with or a little higher than the bottom of the hull to start with.
