Trim tilt down but not up.

Need help on this. 2000 VP 5.7 GSi sx-m outdrive. I changed the reservoir tank on the trim/tilt assembly unit. Reassembled everything and now the motor will turn for down but just clicks for up.
Hydraulic lines are not attached as I wanted to test motor before full assembly.
Any idea on troubleshooting?

Trying to figure this diagram out but I don’t see any other cables or connections aside from the 3 going to the helm and the other two going to breaker.
Where would I find the one that goes to the starter?

Trim has to get power from the Bat, in most cases there is a wire coming from the starter post to the trim. If it's not there it could come direct from the Bat

Here is what is on the GI and GXI and some others

Followed the diagrams (both) and I don’t see where I am missing a connection.
Trim motor does have power, when i push the up bottom from the helm, the relay clicks and nothing. Pressing down button, motor works.
Just baffled and apologize. Just not too savvy when it comes to this.
Also tried to take out relays and they won’t budge.

We're a DIY place but it appears your having trouble with tracing voltages. Might be time to find some help

Yep. That’s my next step. I just don’t understand how the trim motor works for down but not for up. Battery marks 12 v.

The up circuit has a limit switch, so the drive will not go to high up when motor is running. To bypass the limit switch there is a trailer switch/button so when motor is OFF it will go full up

I am understanding a bit more now. I just don’t have a trailer button. My boat is a Striper 2600.

I also have a Striper Sport Cabin with the same engine, I found a trim limiter on Ebay and installed it to keep my drive in the right range of trim while under way. Got tired of the guess work.

I have the trim limiters already in the ram cylinders. I just can’t get the trim motor to turn when I press the Up button

Found the culprit Alldodge.
I had to keep up the fight and found that the power cable in the harness for the relay was corroded and not making contact.
Removed and changed all connections. Working up and down.
