I recently purchased a 1988 Glastron Sierra 3.0 Alpha One outdrive and took it out Saturday and it was awesome, but Sunday we took her back out and my trim would go down but not up except when you use the trailer button. I'm not sure what's going on in this case, so any help would be great. He really some pics of her.

Replace all down's w up's and up's w down's

Here, i started the first post..........

I have a 50 hp Mercury 2 Stroke with power trim (down/up). There's a switch on my throttle handle and one on the motor. The switch on the throttle handle is now only working when I bring it down, no longer up. However the switch on the motor works in both down/up. I replaced the switch and same issue. Looking at the wiring in the console nothing looks out of place. I suspect the issue is somewhere near the motor, just don't know if there's something given the symptoms I should be looking for? Thanks.

;)

Vince chances are you have a bad trim limit switch circuit. Try this: go to the stern and look for two black wires that come through the transom that plug into two connectors, one with a purple/ white wire and one with two blue/ white wires. Unplug the black wires and jumper between the tho connectors with a short piece of insulated wire. Try the trim. If it works then your TL circuit is bad. Check the wires and you could try cleaning the switch contacts.

I replaced the cylinders and pump and now they go up very slow and the drive goes back down. Frustrated beyond belief

Why did you replace the pump and cylinders? My guess is that you probably just have some air in the system that needs to bleed itself out.

I have a 92 Searay 170 BR with the 3 liter and alpha one drive and the same thing happened to mine. On the trim gauge there is a middle line and that is where it seems to plane out and run the best. If I trim below that line it will trim up to it and stop. I have to use the trailer button to get it to go above that line.Once above that line it will trim up and down but if I go below that line the same thing will happen again. I checked the fluid level and noticed it was low. About half full. I will fill it up when I get back to the lake and see if that fixes it. I am assuming that in the trailer position is when the fluid should be full. I will be subscribed to this thread to see what everyone else is saying. I hope in my case it is that simple. I hope it is for you too.
