Trim\tilt issue????

First off I am new to boating and to Iboat...... Thanks, for all the useful info here in the forums.


Problem I am having is that the trim stopped working in the up or down position suddenly. I have an 1988 sea ray mid cabin with a 4.3L mercruiser and alpha one stern drive. I am not sure what year the engine is or the model number and I am also not sure what alpha one drive it is. I do have a pic of the drive.

OK back to the problem - No click, no movement on the alpha drive. However I did bench test the trim pump unit and found the motor runs strong up and down when jumped. Not sure where else to go with testing the system. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

An up date on this issue. I have fixed it, After I bench tested the pump, I also benched tested the solenoids and found that they worked. After that I power probed the switch at the shift throttle and was able to get the motor to go up and down. I than looked for continuity at the fuse and found fuse bad. Replaced fuse and all is good now. I originally checked fuse and it looked good, only after power probing the fuse did it find the fuse was no good from corrosion. Thank you for your help.
