First, sorry if this is the wrong forum, there are just alot of forums & this will take some getting used to.

Onto the issue.

I am a first time boat owner, but i can handle the mechanical end. This boat is a baja with a 305 in it. Ive got the motor running good, but naturally NOTHING else works... lol

Tach, Speedo, Temp, Oil, Trim, Trim Pump, Bilge Pump, etc..

Ive rewired the tach, temp, oil from scratch since the wiring is split everywhere, someone has rigged alot, so im fixing slowly.

Anyhow, i tried today to get the pump working, it has no foot on it so i cant really see if it all works (i dont think) but here is what ive got. The 4 wires for the control to the pump are there, but branch to other places. After some rewiring of hot wires to the panel (which may be wrong) i have the red on a constant hot (with ignition on). Ive check power when pressing the buttons, tilt down wire is hot when button on. Trailer wire hot when button pushed. Nothing hot when trim up pushed.

At the pump, red is hot as it should be, the power from trim down is at the pump, trailer & trim up not working.

Basically i need a wiring diagram or someone to help me understand how this pump is supposed to work, what color wires are supposed to be what for the pump, if the wires split to other places, where are they supposed to go, etc..

I know this is a long post, but i try to be as descriptive as possible the first go around!

You'll need to post your engine and type of drive :) (Well at least the drive info) - Bravo 1, Bravo II, Bravo III, or Alpha or something else? Any pertinent info you can provide always helps.

Basing off of HP, i'd guess it had an alpha on it, but there isn't a foot on it at all now..

Welcome to iboats......:)
Without knowing the make, model, year it is kind of hard to give you good advice....
However, since you think it is a Merc. Alpha 1, try the link below & see if it helps.....

Run the cursor over the lettered sections on page 7 & click on the section that you want to view.......;)
