trim/tilt whacko

Went to the lake today.Got the boat in the water with the kids.Went down the lake and motor went up.Put the motor down and went back up.Motor would go back up like it was locked in up postion.It would raise its self up even after we checked all the toggle switches.If anyone has any ideas please let me know.The boat is a 1989 Glasstream bass boat with a 90HP 2 Stroke Mercury.Thanks

Took the boat to the shop.They found a short in the wiring behind the fuse box.I posted this just in case someone else has a problem.
