trim up problem johnson 90hp outboard

Getting out of the lake last night my motor would not trim up again. It did fine while on the water but again it would not go up. I sound like its going up and down. But no motion. please help. jkarpovitch@yahoo.com

Its probably an air pocket in the system, check the reservoir and top off til overflowing. Then cycle up and down several times, its a self bleeding design.

This happens a lot if the engine has been stored laying down on its side.
The air bubble in the reservoir migrates and ends up in the pump.

Post back if this doesn't work, you might have to loosen the manual release valve and cycle it by hand.
