Power Trim will go down while under power but not up.... Not sure what to do or check. Sometimes under low power/throttle it will go up but definitely not while at 1/2 throttle and the boat is moving. Thoughts?

if your trim switch is in the top of your shifter handle, you may have a short in the wiring..... thats what was wrong with mine....the wires wrap around the base of the shifter and lead up to the top...they were pinched in mine...worked fine in neutral, just not in forward

I had a short in my QuickSilver too. My trailer trim button still worked though, so I just used it untill I was able to figure out it was getting pinched at the base.

Re: Trim won't go UP under power

I think he is reffering to, his trim system not being strong enough to counter the weight of the boat. Basically he can use it when the motor isn't creating a lot of thrust. So therefor the trim can't be used while under way when trying to gain extra MPH or a better cruising angle.

Either your pump my need to be rebuilt or you gots lots of weight on the boat possibly under the deck in the form of water logged foam.

Re: Trim won't go UP under power

Sounds almost the same as what happened to me a couple of weeks ago. It started as an intermittent problem. I could trim down but trimming up was hit or miss. By the end of the day I couldn't trim up at all. I had to disconnect the rams when I got back to the ramp so that I could lift the drive up enough to pull out of the water. Ended up tying the drive up with dock lines in order to drive home.

The problem was one of the trim pump solenoids had gone bad. That is where I would start looking.
