lol depends, you just going to putt around at 2000 rpm, or try to get up on plane? Does your trailer switch work?

Re: Trim

What position is it stuck in? If it doesn't work at all this is an important piece of info before we can answer your question . . . ;)

I had a fixed trim 3.0 Stringer in a very light hull and she was very capable of going around any lake.

Ayuh,... It'd be more like Plowin' around the pond....

A Test Jumper wire,+ 10 minutes should tell you What's broken Where....

Re: Trim

the outdrive is in the down position---trailer switch not working as well.
No prior trouble-just today it wouldnt work.
I took the boat out--seemed to do ok---but running in a trimmed position is more economical, I have heard.

Since both the trim and trailer are not working, you have a problem either with the wiring or the up solenoid. First thing does the motor run when you hit down? If so your motor and fuse are OK if not look at the fuse (on top of trim solenoids). Next look near the stern and locate the trim pump. Near there somewhere are two solenoids, these control the trim up and down. Check all of the connections on the solenoid, clean and tighten. If you have a voltmeter or test light locate the solenoid with the small blue/white wire on the front. Have someone hit the up switch and see if you have 12V there. If so your switch and wiring are OK. No voltmeter? jumper from the red wire on top to the b/w wire on front, solenoid should activate and motor should run. If it does look for a break in the b/w wire to the control handle. if not carefully jumper to the large b/w wire on the top of the solenoid, motor should run. If it does you have a bad solenoid. Good luck.
