3.0 mercruiser stern drive: trim works with no problems lowering but have to keep pressing switch hoping that it catches to raise, what could be the cause of this??

dirty solenoid contacts, replace the up solenoid

Low oil in the system.

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,..... My guess is Corroded wirin' connections,,.....
