trimed the motor

Ok I trimmed the motor today
I notmaly ran the trim bar at the second hole up from the bottom or closest to the transom. which caused the boat to nose dive and lean to the left. So I moved the trim bar to the 3 hole from the bottom WOW what a difference it made boat came up on plane good and no more lean But I can only use half throttle becuase it blows out (not sure the proper term) the transom is 22 inches tall and I have a evinrude E50ELCSR motor on it. I noticed that there are 4 adjustment holes on the motor it is curently in the top hole by that I mean the motor is sitting flush on the transom. I was woundering if my lean could be from improper motor hieght. If so how would I determine the proper hieght. I looks as if the motor was originaly placed in the second hole from the top. (the transom was replaced when I got the boat)

Set the engine height so that the anti-ventilation plate (horizontal plate just above the propshaft) is even with, to about an inch above, the bottom, bowfisher.

Set the trim where you can reach top speed without ventilating (blowing out) the prop.

Makes you really wish for power tilt, doesn't it?

lol yes it sure does. ok antivent plate is about 1 above bottom when I trim it so it does not blow out at WOT the boat does a nose dive

Sounds like you may be bow heavy, bowfisher.

Try lowering the engine one hole.

I think we may be talking about 2 different trim adjustments.You may need to adjust the motor virticaly.
You may need to lower the motor a little.
Or if your prop is a little tired it may blow out easily.
A prop in tip top shape with more cup or a more sofisticated design may handle your set up.

It sounds like your motor is as low on the transom as it can go. It also sounds like a load redistribuiton is in order. Is there anything that can be moved from the front to the back?
